Flashback 2003

I remember Waldbaum's I miss this grocery store. I had a lot of different experiences, all good happened to me at this store.

You never know who you will meet even at a supermarket. I will never forget the spring of 2003 when a brunette hair woman stopped to talk to me while she was leaving then Waldbaum's (now BIG Y) supermarket at Bishop Corners in West Hartford. The first thing she said to me in a friendly way, "Hi young man." I responded to her by saying, "Hi." The Lord put it on this woman's heart to ask me, "Are you are Christian?" I answered her, "Yes I am." The woman then asked me, "What is your name?" I replied, "Paul." As we greeted each other, the woman said, "Nice to meet you Paul I'm Marilyn." and I told Marilyn that it was nice to meet her too. But here's what Marilyn said to me that really touched my heart and really made my day when Marilyn said, "God Bless You Paul and you are more than welcome to come and fellowship at my church, Church Of The Living God." Church Of The Living God is in Manchester right on the South Windsor line and across from it was then Applebees on Deming St. Marilyn's act of obedience to witness to me or invite me to her church really blessed me! Yes, I was saved 20 years at the time but to hear "Jesus Loves You" is always good to hear no matter if you are saved and someone who is leading you to the Lord and by me being so receptive, Marilyn felt comfortable chatting with me. I told my mom because my mom was with me at the supermarket. As an act of obedience ourselves, we got directions to Church Of The Living God and went to church services for many months (maybe 6-8 months) because of Marilyn and hoping to see Marilyn in church. We missed Marilyn but it was nothing but an angel that sent Marilyn across my path. I never got a chance to say "thank you for being such a blessing to me" to Marilyn at church but I'm reminded of the 2 good Bible verses after a wonderful experience that I had at the supermarket. 1 John 5:4 and Matthew 5:16. 1 John 5:4 simply says, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." Matthew 5:16 is another Bible that I like and Marilyn demonstrated when she was chatting with me which simply says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
